Stone Mountain Park has the largest high relief sculpture in the world, the Confederate Memorial Carving.Pahatantersebut to honor three heroes of the Civil War Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. The entire surface is carved out of 3 hectares, larger than a football field. Carving of 3 people is 400 feet above the ground, covering an area of 90 to 190 feet, and a hidden 42 feet into the mountain. The deepest point of the carving in Lee's elbow, which is 12 feet to the surface of the mountain.
